Sister Duo

TWO SISTERS - ONE VISION
We are now in our third generation and work on our products with love, passion and a sense of family.
Magdalena is the creative mind behind the sister duo. Her signature style shapes VON&ZU's unique design.
Eva-Maria creates space for creativity by organizing, managing, and planning. Above all, she is the contact person for our clients and can be found at all trade fairs.
Today, we do things the way our grandmother did over 80 years ago and, together with our team, we create fashion by women for women.
HISTORY
Czerny Manufaktur GmbH, with the label “VON&ZU,” is a third-generation family business.
What began in 1941 as a tailor's shop, grocery store, and textile shop quickly established itself as a respected fashion studio beyond the borders of the Main-Spessart district. The first renovations were carried out in 1958, and the transition from bespoke tailoring to contract manufacturing and the first in-house collection was finally completed in 1984 under the label "BASSET." By the 1990s, the company had blossomed into the market leader in country-style fashion for women's skirts and opened up further markets in Asia. At the same time, the
Transforming the company from a manufacturing company to a creative company.
Even then, it was clear that people were at the heart of the company, and that the workplace was to be seen as a spiritual home and a space for self-confidence. With this attitude and a keen sense of the changing zeitgeist, a reorientation was sought in the early 2000s. The objective shifted away from a traditional and country-style clothing collection toward a lifestyle fashion brand. Sales were repositioned, and the stores were given a fresh ambiance.
However, the restructuring placed too much demands on the brand, known for its traditional costumes, and persistent sales declines led to insolvency in 2008. A fresh start was not long in coming. The Czerny Manufaktur launched the summer season in 2009 with a more compact sales structure. The market finally stabilized in 2011, and with the help of designer Magdalena Cromme, the collection has been steadily developing under the "VON&ZU" label since 2014. Eva-Maria Czerny joined the company in August 2018 and is responsible for all business operations.
For more than 80 years, the company has impressed with its innovative spirit, vision, and sense of community. These qualities are also anchored in the philosophy of the young managing directors, Magdalena and Eva-Maria. Both demonstrated this by responding intuitively to the coronavirus pandemic at the beginning of 2020. The "happyMasken" and "CosyCarl" labels were launched and sold online, thus offsetting the losses in brick-and-mortar retail. The focus is now no longer solely on wholesale distribution, but also on online sales and brick-and-mortar retail at the Gemünden location.
The sister duo's vision is steady and healthy growth from within.
